Last Days: Days of Many Antichrists

For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. –Matthew 24: 24

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ:

We will begin the new year with a corroboration to last spring’s Great Tribulation. You will remember we had said from Scripture that we are living in the time of many antichrists. You will also remember The Holy Scriptures defining antichrists: "He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son" (1 John 2: 18, 22). This time let us develop our thesis further concentrating on the sheer size and scope of this group–antichrists, in these last days. Our main Text is from the Gospel according to Matthew, and Mark.

Recently I have been noticing that the prefix anti- means opposite kind or against, so not only do antichrists deny Jesus, but they are opposite, and opposed to Him. The opposition of antichrists towards Jesus progresses into hostility towards His followers–Christians.

Many antichrists existed in the early church and still do, but only as opponents of Christ. Jesus prophesied that in the last days, however, many will be saying they are Christ and shall deceive many; these antichrists are called false Christs and prophets (Mark 13:6).

So there are two groups of antichrists. There are those of Jesus generation (who still exist today), then there are those from our time, known as false Christs and prophets in Scripture. I believe the latter, are a more formidable foe for three reasons: one, because they say they are the Christ; two, because of the signs and wonders they do to deceive many; and three because the Antichrist proceeds from this group. Both types of antichrists, however, lead others astray and if it were possible even the elect.

It is apparent then that neither groups of antichrists are friends of the Lord Jesus, and consequently His followers. They both deny Jesus and oppose Him, sometimes through His Saints.

Recall that Scripture defines the antichrists of our day as false Christs and prophets, false because they impersonate The Lord Jesus Christ. It is written, that they shall do great signs and wonders. These do great signs and wonders for the effect of deceiving many. Christ, on the other hand, performs great miracles for the benefit of assisting our faith.

Regarding the fall of MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, it is prophesied, "And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee; for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived" (Revelation 18: 23).

Of the myriad prophetic questions I would ask a false Christ would be: when did you suffer death by crucifixion for the sins of the world, and was raised again from the dead? Because according to Messianic Prophecies of the Holy Scriptures Zechariah 12: 10 fulfilment John 20: 27 and Psalm 16: 10 fulfilled also in The Gospel accounts, Jesus is the Christ.

The Christian’s reaction to these random acts of wickedness is to remain steadfast in the faith. In all my personal encounters with antichrists, as a follower of the Lord Jesus, I have sought the Heavenly Father for help in prayer–"Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray (James 5: 13) rested on the hope of salvation through faith in the Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (John 20: 31) and continued to abide in the Word of the Lord, Jesus, and to let His Word abide in me (John 15: 7).

During an attack one night, the Lord told me as plain as day: No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54: 17).

These false Christs already know that Jesus is the Christ and Saviour of the world, but they put no trust in Him. Yet it is Jesus Who died for the sins of the world and, thanks to a Heavenly Father, was raised again from the dead. There is no other Christ. There are only His followers.

As mentioned above Christ does great miracles; and like Christ, His followers do great miracles for the benefit of helping our faith along.

Unlike antichrists, the Christian's attitude towards Christ is faith, hope and love. Towards the believer love, God's love, as it is written: Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his live for his friends (John 15: 13).

When were you filled with the Holy Spirit?

Yours in Christ’s love,

Denise
